Active vs Past loads: what the toggle controls

The Active / Past toggle on the load board controls which postings you see. Active is for booking. Past is for research.

Active loads

Active shows loads that are currently live on the board. These are postings the broker has not removed or aged off yet. If a load matches your filters, you can save it, email the broker, or call to negotiate. Active is the default view when you open the board.

Past loads

Past shows postings that have aged off the board. A load moves to Past when the broker removes it, the pickup date passes, or the posting expires. Past loads are no longer bookable. You cannot call the broker and book a Past load. The value is in what you learn from it.

Why use Past loads

Past loads are useful for 3 reasons:

1. Sanity-check rates: See what brokers actually posted for a lane last week or last month. Compare those rates to current postings.
2. Broker history: See what a specific broker normally posts. Do they run the same lanes? Do their rates move with fuel? Are their postings usually complete?
3. Market norms: Understand what equipment types and lanes are active in your region during different seasons.

How to switch

1. Open the load board.
2. Click the Active / Past toggle at the top of the filter bar.
3. Your other filters (lane, equipment, rate, broker) still apply. You can search Past loads the same way you search Active loads.
