Claiming a load is a self-reported signal to your team that you are pursuing it. It keeps dispatchers and owner-operators from calling the same broker about the same load. Claiming does not reserve the load with the broker. It does not mean Load Work knows you booked it. The broker may have already covered the load by the time you call.
Load Work is not a broker and does not book freight. Every load on the board is a lead — you contact the broker directly by phone or email to negotiate and book. Load Work does not verify that a booking happened, and loads can be covered before you call.

How to claim a load

1

Save the load first

Find a load you want to track and click Save. It will appear in your org-wide saved loads list at /saved.
2

Click Claim

Open the saved load and click the Claim button. The status updates immediately for everyone in your organization.
3

Follow up directly with the broker

Use the broker phone or email on the load detail page to negotiate and book. Load Work is not involved in the booking.

Who can see claims

Anyone in your organization can see claimed loads. The saved loads table shows the claimant name under STATUS / CLAIM, and the Team claims tab filters to loads claimed by any teammate.

Expired without booking

If a load ages off the board before you book it, its status changes to Expired without booking. That happens automatically. You can still see the load details and broker info for reference, but the load is no longer active.
